A popular drink at special occasions, it is also said to boost the immune system being full of vitamin C and have other superfood properties.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Soak the baobab seeds in lukewarm water for up to 2 to 3 hours, until soft.
  2. Once the seeds are soft, use clean hands to mash them into the water, exposing the seeds in the process. Stir, then sieve the mixture to remove the seeds and any fibres. Add sugar to taste and serve over ice.

Optional

  • Blend the juice with a handful of ice cubes.
  • Alternative sweeteners include: unrefined (brown) sugar, honey, agave nectar, maple syrup, date sugar, orange juice and sugarcane juice.
